Merry Christmas

I heard it is not respectful to say Merry X'mas, because X isn't Christ. Also simply saying Happy Holiday isn't the best. So, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.

I heard that Holidays comes from "Holy Day". Personally I don't take this as an excuse of not saying Merry Christmas.

Xmas came from Greek. It is still respectful to say Xmas.

'Where did Xmas come from? Some transliterations of Greek spell Christos (or Kristos) as Xristos. The "X" stood in for Christos. While in modern times we regard Xmas as a kind of slang, it was originally considered to be a perfectly respectful abbreviation, especially as it included a form of the cross in the shape of the "X".'
